How does AKC Canine Retreat differ from other dog care facilities?

Every facet of the AKC Canine Retreat experience has been thoughtfully designed with the dogs’ utmost well-being in mind. Our comprehensive behavior assessment ensures that your dog’s unique personality and needs are considered during their time in our care. Our facilities have been designed to create an environment to optimize health while minimizing your dog’s stress. Our mix of social play groups and dedicated rest spaces translate to an enriching experience for all of our canine guests.

Our entire staff is extensively trained, and continuously educated, in safety procedures and canine behaviors to optimize the safety and well-being of your dog. All our groomers and management staff have completed the AKC S.A.F.E. Grooming program. Only pet-safe and EPA-approved cleaning and disinfecting products are utilized to provide industry-leading protections.

What services does AKC Canine Retreat offer?

AKC Canine Retreat offers daycare, overnight care, group and individual training sessions, social and individual walking, professional grooming and dog jogging. For details, visit our Services page.

What vaccines are required?

AKC Canine Retreat requires proof of current vaccinations for every dog in our care. The required vaccinations include: Bordetella, DHPP (distemper/parvo) and rabies.

What forms of payment do you accept?

A credit card is required to be on file and used for membership or packages. Checks not accepted.

What are your hours?

Our six daycare locations are open seven days a week with 24-hour supervised care for our dogs. Resident only locations, Mercedes House and Sky, are open Monday through Friday. Public lobby hours vary at each location, check the Locations page for specific hours.

Can you accommodate all sizes of dogs?

Absolutely. We have accommodations for all types and sizes of dogs.

Do you have webcams?

Yes, all locations are equipped with webcams. AKC Canine Retreat provides webcam access to Members, who can access them via each location’s page. Contact your specific location for password information and the current live-stream hours. For optimal experience, please view in Google Chrome.

Are there cancellation penalties?

Yes. AKC Canine Retreat reserves space specifically for your dog whether it be grooming, boarding, walking, jogging, or training. If you fail to cancel a scheduled service 24 hours before the scheduled service is set to begin, AKC Canine Retreat will charge the credit card on file 50% of the service or reservation.

How do I cancel a service I scheduled?

If you are cancelling a reserved service such as overnight boarding or grooming, those cancellations must occur 24 hours before the scheduled service is scheduled to begin to avoid cancellation charges.

Membership Questions
Do I have to purchase membership to use AKC Canine Retreat services?

No. Our services are available for booking on an individual basis. However, members enjoy heavily discounted services and additional benefits.

What are the benefits of AKC Canine Retreat membership?

Members save up to 55% savings with special member rates for daycare, monthly combo packages for daycare & walking, and overnight care. Members also enjoy access to webcams to view their dogs while they’re away, as well as priority booking for holidays and VIP invitations to AKC Canine Retreat special events.

Do you offer relief walks?

Relief walks are offered at all locations. Please speak to your local AKC Canine Retreat to discuss your needs.

Do you charge to feed or medicate my dog?

There is no charge for feeding or medicating your dog. However, we request that you bring enough of your dog’s regular food to cover their stay with us. In the event you forget their food, we have food for sale in all of our locations. Regarding medication, we are happy to administer pills or topical applications, however we aren’t able to provide injections at this time.

Do you offer multi-dog discounts?

We do offer multi-dog discounts. Please contact the AKC Canine Retreat location closest to you to get specifics.
